April 15, 2020: “Commemoration and Decolonization: Remembering the Roads Untaken in Ireland’s Independence Struggle.” Dr. Heather Laird of University College Cork will give a lecture on the uses and misuses of commemorations of decolonisation and independence, the subject of her recent timely book on Ireland’s ‘decade of centenaries’.

March 4, 2020: “Dealing with Divided Past: The Public History of Conflict in Northern Ireland.” Dr. Olwen Purdue, Director of the Center for Public History at Queen’s University Belfast will offer a lecture on the place of public history in a divided society. More info.
