Georgetown University’s Global Irish Studies Initiative, in association the BMW Center for German and European Studies, the Clinton Institute for American Studies at University College Dublin, Queen’s University Belfast, and the Embassy of Ireland, presents:

Bridging the Atlantic VI

Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 11:30 – 17:00 EST in the Mortara Center For International Studies, 3600 N St NW, DC 20007. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be recorded. Lunch will be provided.

“Bridging the Atlantic” is an ongoing series of conferences presented by Georgetown University’s Global Irish Studies Initiative and BMW Center for German and European Studies, in association with the Embassy of IrelandThe Clinton Institute at University College Dublin, and Queen’s University Belfast. Beginning with its first gathering in 2019, BTA has been a continuous project that seeks to spotlight issues of mutual concern in the USA, Ireland, and the EU—among them the US-EU relationship, transatlantic trade, and the current challenges of peace-building in Northern Ireland after Brexit.

This year’s conference will include opening remarks from H.E. Geraldine Byrne Nason, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States, as well as a fireside chat with Dame Louise Richardson, President of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
