GIS Student Fellows Research Symposium 2026

On April 27, 2026, the 2025-2026 Global Irish Studies Initiative Fellowship student cohort presented their independent research projects. This event served as an end of the year celebration and presentation of the illuminating research conducted by our cohort. Each of the fellows shared highlights of their projects and ongoing questions they had explored throughout their time working with Global Irish Studies.

This year’s symposium brought together research from a wide range of topics, including Irish aid to African countries, Irish soft power through cultural diplomacy, a comparison between Ireland and the United States’ healthcare systems, Anglo-Irish and English officer’s service in the British Army during the American Revolution, among many others.
