Rosaleen McDonagh in conversation with Teri Cross Davis

Dr Rosaleen McDonagh is a playwright, academic, social worker, feminist, columnist for The Irish Times and a member of Aosdána. Her plays include The Baby Doll Project, She’s Not Mine, Rings, The Prettiest Proud Boy and Mainstream. Her most recent commissions were Walls and Windows for the Abbey Theatre and Contentious Spaces for the Project Arts Centre. Rosaleen is a board member of Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre and was appointed a Human Rights Commissioner in June 2020. Dr. McDonagh completed her PhD thesis on disabled Traveller identity, and she is the author of the recently published Unsettled, a memoir that explores racism, ableism, abuse and resistance as well as the bonds of community, family and friendship.

Teri Ellen Cross Davis is the author of a more perfect Union (The 2019  Journal/Charles B. Wheeler Poetry Prize) and Haint (2017 Ohioana Poetry Award). She is the 2020 Poetry Society of America’s Robert H. Winner Memorial Prize winner and the poetry coordinator for the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington D.C.
